While JD Standard Calculator doesn't offer the exact same feature set as does its Windows counterpart (scientific functions are absent), it does include handy features such as a loan calculator and a savings forecaster. The interface is boxy and clunky, and cluttered with advertising banners--an unfortunate freeware side effect. The program's best function is its tape option. Unlike Windows Calculator, JD Standard can print out calculations over a period of time. You can't "pin" the calculator on top of another window, however, which is a big drawback when working with spreadsheets. Overall, this is a handy tool that offers a good feature set for a price you can't refuse.
