Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffSeptember 14, 2009This unsophisticated application lets you take quick notes and save them on your PC. As far as we could tell, Note Genie's biggest advantage is that it automatically saves every note you write. The interface is rather primitive, though we liked that the pane on the main window shows all recent notes. In some of our tests, the tray icon didn't work in Windows XP, though it was just fine in others. Your customization options also are slim. You can change note size and background hue but not text color. Nor can you make notes semitransparent or save them as TXT files. The only other bright spot is that the utility doesn't take much memory, even when you save multiple notes. If your monitor is cluttered with sticky-paper reminders, this application could be of use, so long as you don't expect anything fancy.
