DigDB for Excel

Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffNovember 8, 2008Excel is already an enormously powerful tool, but DigDB provides a handful of extra functions that can make a spreadsheet easier to use. We particularly liked the Filter, Roll up, and Sort features that allow users to do queries similar to SQL functions in an easy-to-use interface. In many cases we found these commands more convenient and powerful than Excel's own Pivot and Subtotals. Another useful feature provides the ability to split columns--extracting first and last names into separate columns, for example. In our tests the program worked smoothly and quickly, even with large tables, although the lack of a help file might give some new users pause. Overall, we see DigDB as a potentially significant help to people who work with large spreadsheets.
